1. About these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of PlayMapLoc, including our website, games, multiplayer features, user accounts, virtual currency, Premium features and related services.
By using PlayMapLoc, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The Service
PlayMapLoc is an educational geography game that allows users to play quizzes and geography-based games, track progress, earn XP, Levels, Gems and Achievements, participate in Daily Challenges and multiplayer games, and access additional Premium features.
Features may be added, changed or removed as PlayMapLoc develops.
We may reasonably adjust gameplay balance, progression systems, virtual rewards, game modes and virtual item prices where necessary to maintain or improve the service.
3. Accounts
Some PlayMapLoc features require an account.
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- keeping access to your account secure;
- all activity performed through your account;
- notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may not sell, transfer or share your PlayMapLoc account for commercial purposes.
We may limit, suspend or terminate accounts that engage in fraud, cheating, automated abuse, exploitation of technical errors or other serious violations of these Terms.
4. Fair Play
You must not attempt to manipulate PlayMapLoc through:
- bots or automated gameplay;
- fabricated gameplay requests;
- manipulation of XP, Gems, Achievements or scores;
- exploitation of bugs for unintended rewards;
- unauthorized access to another user's account or data;
- interference with multiplayer games;
- abuse of technical vulnerabilities.
If a technical error or exploit produces incorrect rewards, scores, virtual currency or progression, we may correct the affected data where reasonably necessary.
We will not remove legitimate progression merely because game balance is later changed.
5. XP, Levels and Achievements
XP, Levels, Achievements, streaks, leaderboard positions and similar progression features form part of the PlayMapLoc service.
They:
- have no cash value;
- cannot be exchanged for money;
- do not represent property or financial instruments;
- may be adjusted where required to correct errors or maintain reasonable game balance.
Achievement and progression requirements may evolve as PlayMapLoc adds or changes game modes.
6. Gems and Virtual Items
Gems are PlayMapLoc's in-product virtual currency.
Gems:
- have no monetary value outside PlayMapLoc;
- cannot be redeemed for cash;
- cannot be transferred between users unless PlayMapLoc explicitly introduces such functionality;
- may be earned through gameplay, Achievements, Daily Challenges, Premium allowances or other approved features;
- may be spent on eligible cosmetic or utility items.
Virtual cosmetics and other virtual items are licensed for use within PlayMapLoc and are not physical property.
Where technically necessary, we may correct Gem balances resulting from duplicate rewards, fraud, exploits or verified technical errors.
We will not arbitrarily confiscate legitimately earned or purchased Gems.
9. Payments
When paid subscriptions are available, payments will be processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
Paddle is responsible for processing payment transactions, applicable payment taxes and related buyer payment services. Paddle describes itself as the seller/Merchant of Record for transactions processed through its platform.
By purchasing through Paddle, you may also be subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms and Refund Policy.
PlayMapLoc does not store your full payment-card details.
10. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation
Premium subscriptions automatically renew for periods corresponding to the selected subscription term until cancelled.
You may cancel your subscription at any time.
Cancellation stops future renewal. Unless otherwise required by law or stated at purchase, Premium access normally continues until the end of the already-paid billing period.
Paddle provides subscription cancellation through its Buyer Portal.
11. Refunds and Withdrawal Rights
Refunds and statutory withdrawal rights are handled in accordance with:
- applicable mandatory consumer law;
- Paddle Buyer Terms;
- Paddle Refund Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.
For country-specific withdrawal rights and any applicable conditions, consult Paddle's Buyer Terms and Refund Policy. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

12. Multiplayer
PlayMapLoc multiplayer features allow users to compete with other players.
Players must not:
- intentionally disrupt games;
- manipulate network state to gain unfair advantages;
- impersonate another player;
- exploit disconnect/reconnect behavior;
- use automated tools to answer questions.
Temporary network issues may affect multiplayer sessions. Where possible, PlayMapLoc may restore valid session state.
13. Intellectual Property
PlayMapLoc software, branding, game design, original graphics, interface, databases and original content are owned by or licensed to the operator.
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use PlayMapLoc for lawful personal use.
You may not copy, resell, scrape, reverse engineer or commercially redistribute substantial portions of the service except where permitted by law.
14. Usernames and User Content
Users may choose usernames or similar profile information.
You must not use usernames or content that are:
- illegal;
- impersonating another person;
- deliberately abusive;
- infringing third-party rights;
- designed to mislead users about official PlayMapLoc status.
We may remove or require changes to inappropriate usernames.
15. Availability
We aim to keep PlayMapLoc available, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
The service may temporarily be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- hosting or network failures;
- security incidents;
- third-party service interruptions;
- updates or migrations.
16. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account where reasonably necessary for:
- serious or repeated breach of these Terms;
- fraud;
- cheating;
- abuse of the service;
- security reasons;
- legal requirements.
Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to remedy the issue.
Users may also request account deletion.
17. Disclaimer
PlayMapLoc is provided as an educational and entertainment service.
While we aim for accurate geographical information, data such as population, borders, political recognition, names or classifications may change over time.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PlayMapLoc is not liable for indirect or consequential loss resulting from ordinary use or temporary unavailability of the service.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when PlayMapLoc changes or where legal requirements change.
Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way.
